DHAMMA OF ASHOKA -1 As a person Ashoka was the Buddhist- in

the M. R. E. I ,He says … I am disciple …. In the R.E. VI, Ashoka proclaimed his

ideal of Kingship, … there is no higher duty than the welfare to the whole world …

Ashoka was a secular King – In pillar Edict II , Ashoka specifies the

qualities of Dhamma,- Liberty, Truthfulness, Purity etc.
