A/AN Indefinite Article

• We use A when the next word begin with a consonant sound (/b/, /k/, /d/…).
A book A student /bʊk/ /ˈstjuːdənt/
• We use AN when the next word begins with a vowel sound (/a/, /e/, /o/, etc.)
An actor An apple /ˈæktəʳ/ /ˈæpl/

• Its important that you identify the SOUND not the letter that the words begin. Sometimes the letter is vowel but it has a consonant sound or begin with H mute.
