Did you ever about “Antonomasia”?

Antonomasia The word 'antonomasia comes from the Greek word 'antonomazein', which means to “name differently”.

Antonomasia is the substitution of any “epithet” or phrase with a proper name.

ANTONOMASIA

To put it in simple terms, antonomasia is a rhetoric way of giving an appropriate name or title to someone or something. The epithet or appellative is usually inspired by a specific character, a particular physical trait, or some outstanding feats or deeds of that person or thing.

Examples of Antonomasia

“Bapak Pendidikan(Mr.Education)”

The Government decided that “Ki hajar

Dewantara” as a “Bapak Pendidikan”

in Indonesia. BecauseHe is focus its

struggle through education by

establishing the Taman Siswa school

on July 3, 1922.

Argues that Because he had been

to worldwide.

“Caesar Keep Smile” people called it. Because he famous

with goyang caesar which one before he start to rocking it he alway s says “keep smile”.

In indonesia: “Si Cetar Membahana” for

Syahrini as a “fenomenal artist” in Indonesia. The society called her is

“Si Cetar Membahana” becauce she always use that sentence

when she talked something. She has different

style than others artist.

“An Intelligent Person” for Albert Einstein

Every people know if eisntein very intelelligent. He as a “Scientist”. He don’t afraid about “fail”.

Argues that jackson is a “great pop musician”.

A philanderer for Cassanova.

His name is recorded in history as the

patron saint of all playboy. His

reputation as a “womanizer(cassanova)” very famous

until after his death.
