Overview

This Department coordinates enrollment of Omani students, who graduated from high or counterpart schools in Oman or abroad, in the higher education institutions

Objectives

Coordinating with Higher Education Institutions in respect of basics and admission requirements of each and every institution according to disciplines and vacancies.

Participating in putting the plans related to admission policies in coordination with Higher Education Institutions.

Establishing a data base of all applicants to Higher Education Institutions and supplying the governmental planning organizations with the statistical data in coordination with HEIs.

Media awareness of all academic programs in respect to admission operations in HEIs.

Receiving, reviewing, and registering all applications to HEIS in accordance to the advertised disciplines and the demanded requirements. Then distributing the accepted students to the HEIS and notify the students, as well as the Institutions with the lists of the accepted ones.

Organizing the admission, and the students joining those all Institutions.

Do the researches related to admissions policies in order to develop the procedures in HEAC.

Supply students with required students Guide books about HEIs, and establish the Inquiry service.

Track withdrawn, discontinued, and accepted students in HEIs after allocations.

The site is free because it’s governmental site. However, The SMS cost will be between 100 to 75 Baiza per one message.

It is a guide site that guide student’s attitude toward the higher educational institutions (private, governmental) according to their grade.

The program use other media like printed materials and distribute CDs. It also, use SMS to inform students about the results.

It helps students to improve their decision-making.

It use a forum for interaction.Easy to navigate because the main icons

appears in each page you access.The program provide two languages.

It has site search. The users can provide the administrators by

their feedback to help them improve the program according to students’ needs.

It provides students with many institutions’ site links, phone numbers and faxes to let them connect to that institution if they need more information.

The site has many services but some of them are not activate.

It needs for multimedia that helps explaining the steps of registration.

It is novel technique aims to help organizing the needs of the students in organized way that gives the students opportunities to list the institution that they want to register and sort the needs based on their grades.
