Dear Parent s,
Fat hers? Day
We trust all that our Dads had a wonderful Fathers? Day recently, and enjoyed the treasures brought home from school ? both handmade, and purchased at our recent Fathers? Day stall? .. and once again thank you to our parents and friends group for their support of this initiative.
Book Fair
We thank you for your tremendous support of our book fair a couple of weeks ago. The school receives commission in the form of books for our library from the book fair and we are happy to say that on this occasion 90+ books were donated to the library for all students to borrow.

Parent s approaching ot her people?s children
From time to time issues happen between students in our yard.
Once again we remind parents that they are NOT to approach anyone else?s child as this can be very intimidating to the young
person.
Principals do have the right to restrict entry to the school for parents who are
not treating others ? including children ? with respect.
If you have a concern, please make an appointment via the office to discuss it.
We are always happy to meet with you to work it out.
Please be assured that we take your concerns seriously, and the happiness and
safety of every child, staff member and parent will always be a priority.

Am azing Race This terrific event was held here at school last Wednesday evening and we had in excess of 70 families in attendance.
It seems that everyone had a lot of fun, and it just may be that the parents are a bit more competitive than our students.
Check out some photos from the night
Thanks to our preservice teachers, Zoe and Luke for their organisation of the evening.

Planning for 2018
We have commenced planning for the 2018 school year. If you have, or know of, a student for any year level who will be attending our school in 2018 please ask them to submit an enrolment form in the very near future. Students enrolling in foundation for next year need to turn five before April 30, 2018. Every enrolment needs to be accompanied by your child?s birth certificate, immunisation record and TWO documents which prove your residential address. We can take a copy of these for you at school. All children seeking to enrol at WVPS need to live within our designated neighbourhood area.
Book Parade
The seemed to be many book characters who had escaped from the library here at school for the parade last Thursday.
Students were given the opportunity to come dressed as their favourite book character, and there was a wide variety of fictional and non-fictional characters in attendance.
Added to this was the group of Little Miss and Little Mr people? ..who looked rather like our staff? ? but which one of them was Little Miss Naughty?
More photos from the day to follow ..........
A messagefrom your

Playground Ext ension and Landscaping
It is very exciting to see the progress of the playground extension for the younger children.
The children have been incredibly patient whilst their equipment has been 'out of action'.
We are waiting on a pole for the 'curly' slide to be attached to the main structure and we will
welcome the children back onto the playground as soon as it is complete and safe to use.
Work has also begin on the landscaping at the front entrance of the school.
Thank you to Harpley LendLease for supporting us with this project which will help to create a
more welcoming and attractive entrance to our school.
Before and Af t er School Care
0403 280 852Remember, you can book into our out of school hours care program as a casual user ? you don?t need to have your children attend regularly. So, if it looks like you are going to be late ? make contact with them and they will happily look after your son or daughter.
The children get fed ? and are provided with a range of activities to keep them busy. Their phone number is on the front of the newsletter.
Our school office staff do not have the capacity to mind children when parents are late. Kerrie and Sam are both often involved in meetings ? sometimes off site ? and have a number of responsibilit ies, which can take them away from the front desk.
Enjoy your upcoming weekend everyone
Kind regards
Sue Seneviratne
