The Spanish ArmadaAs a fellow Protestant Elizabeth I of England
> sent aid to Dutch rebels I
> allowed ship captains to attack Spanish treasure ships, steal gold, silver for England
King Philip II wanted to stop England from raiding ships and return England to the Catholic Church
Epic Fail- The Spanish Armada
1. Bought merchant ships and
tried to turn them into war ships,
problem is: bad weather, ship’s
going to sink.
3. Guns were fixed into the ship
which made them almost
impossible to move or reload.
4. Storm takes out even more
ships and Spain returns with 1/3
of what they had.
2. Philip didn’t have enough canons so he started to strip the land of all canons and add them to the ship, problem is: mixing and matching canons and ammunition makes loading very difficult.
