Winter Trek along the Zanskar R iver to Leh, Ladakh. An Indo-British party co-led by Indian M andip Singh Soin and Briton John Barry was flown to Padum in Zanskar on February 6 to begin their 120-kilom eter trek down the frozen Zanskar River to near Leh. After the successful trek, they attempted a w inter ski ascent of Stok Kangri, but bad snow conditions turned them back.
