Statistics• 67% of students currently enrolled in Guilford

County Schools are considered low-income, up from 59% last school year (2014-15)

• Around 2,000 kids in Guilford County are homeless.

• A 2014 study showed that nationwide, just 23% of kids face the same problems.

• These children are likely ill-prepared for bad weather conditions, especially if they are homeless.

Then, because they don’t have proper clothing, these kids get sick during the winter months, which can prevent them from going to school or focusing in class.

•With a Winter Clothes Drive, people can donate old coats, hats, scarves, gloves, etc. that they have outgrown.• These items can be donated to children in need at an elementary school.

The Plan• Boxes and Posters in different

places (school, church, etc.) to receive donations• These donations will go to

Gillespie Park Elementary.• Goal: 100 items by Halloween

(Oct 31). November 16 is also a goal, if 100 items aren’t collected by Oct 31. This way the clothes can be delivered before December.
