Summer Upgrades• Nortel 8600’s from 4.1.1.0 to 4.1.5.4

• Fortinet 3.0 Build 480 to 660

• Aruba Wireless Upgrades

• Started Upgrades on July 7th and finish by July 31

Widener Summer Activity• On July 25th, on the Widener LAN we changed our multicast routing protocol

from DVMRP to PIM, with Nortel’s help.

• Outages occurred on Aug 1st at 5:03 am, Aug 20th at 10:15 am, Aug 21st at 1:30 pm and Sept 2nd at 3:35 pm. Nortel support engaged at all times.

• On Aug 21st - PIM was removed and DVMRP was restored

• Sept 2nd - Revealed code issue with Split MLT’s (not PIM)

• Sept 16th – Moved Internet Router Gig connections off of ACN1 to reduce impact of future outages (10.1.1.200 DNS still dependent)

• Sept 24th - Root cause discovered combo of Split MLT’s and Hot/Standby CPU’s – Nortel CR Q01908107-01 fixed in 4.1.8 available in Nov

DCIU Termination Letter Received - New box stopped shipment

In-Line Caching on hold, best case Winter break with existing hardware

PAIU UpdateCurrently the DCIU and Widener are discussing known options

WINS Contract UpdatePeter Shoudy is working with the DCIU to come up with a mutually agreeable approach that will allow the contract to be renewed again when the current renewal expires June 30, 2009
