The Airport Surface Detection Equipment – Model X (ASDE-X) is a multi-sensor data fusion surveillance system. The goal of ASDE-X is to increase situational awareness of air traffic controllers. ASDE-X is composed of 5 subsystems: a surface movement radar, multilateration system, a remote monitoring system, a multi-sensor data processor, and a display processor.
