(CCAP)
➢Public/private partnership between the Virginia Western Educational Foundation and local governments, school systems, businesses and individuals.
➢The goal of CCAP is to provide tuition funding for qualified students who do not have sufficient financial aid (federal and state grant aid) to pay tuition in full.

WHAT IS THE VALUE OF CCAP?
3 years, fall & spring – 90 creditsplus 1 summer – 6 credits
*at 2019-2020 tuition rates
Do all who apply for CCAP get awarded?
No, CCAP is not guaranteed to all applicants because it is based on what each locality can contribute to the fund in a given year.
WHO IS AWARDED CCAP?
WHAT DOES CCAP NOT PAY FOR?
CCAP funds will not pay for:
➢Cost of textbooks
➢IncludEd textbook fees
➢Additional course fees
➢Supplies
➢Living expenses
HOW ARE CCAP STUDENTS FUNDED?
➢Financial Aid award determines how muchCCAP funding a qualified student will receive.
➢You may attend Virginia Western even if you donot participate in CCAP. You may qualify for sufficient financial aid to pay college costs.

Graduating seniors fromBotetourt County, Craig County,
Franklin County, City of Roanoke, Roanoke County and City of Salem.
WHO MAY APPLY FOR CCAP?
Students who have resided in and are homeschooled or attend private school for their junior and senior years in Botetourt County, Franklin County, Roanoke County and Salem City.
WHO MAY APPLY FOR CCAP?
➢Graduating high school seniors must reside in and attend high school in their locality during junior and senior years.
➢One exception: Roanoke County residents graduating from any high school in the six localities served by Virginia Western may apply for CCAP.
WHO MAY APPLY FOR CCAP?
➢All CCAP applicants must graduate high school witha minimum 2.5 (Roanoke City a minimum 2.0) cumulative grade point average (GPA).
➢A minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA is required on final high school transcript for CCAP eligibility. In Roanoke City, a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA is required.

STEP 1–APPLY TO VIRGINIA WESTERN
Are you a dual-enrolled student?
➢ You have completed a VWCC application and have an emplid (ID number), username, and e-mail address.
➢ You may need to create a new password if your account has been dormant.
➢ Confirm that your Social Security Number is onyour Virginia Western student account.
STEP 1–APPLY TO VIRGINIA WESTERN
How do you know if your Social Security Number (SSN) is on your VWCC Student Center account?
➢ Log on to your Student Center account
➢ Click on “general info” tab
➢ Scroll down to section called “National ID”.
➢ If 4 digits are listed, then your SSN is on file.
➢ If you see only X’s, then your SSN is not on file.
STEP 2 – SUBMITYOUR FAFSA

BASIC FAFSA INFORMATION
What do I need to complete the 2021-2022 FAFSA?
➢Create an FSA ID (Federal Student Aid Identification)
➢Parent/Student 2019 Federal Tax Return
➢Parent/Student 2019 W-2 Forms or any 2019 earning statements
➢ Parent/Student Social Security Cards so that namesand SSNs are entered correctly.

“SUBMITTING FAFSA” DOES NOT EQUAL
“COMPLETING FAFSA”It is the first step. You are not done!
➢ Submitting the FAFSA by February 1, 2021 is not the same as completing the FAFSA and the financial aid review process by April 16, 2021.
➢ The Office of Financial Aid may require additional information for the financial aid review process. Check your student account Message Center for communications.
➢ Checking your Message Center is vital to successfully completing the financial aid review process by the CCAP deadline!

STEP 3 –ACADEMIC PLACEMENT MEASURES
Submit the Request for Academic Placement Measures Evaluation form located at
www.virginiawestern.edu/ccapbefore the 2021 CCAP application deadline
of February 1, 2021
WHEN CANYOU SIGN UP FOR CLASSES?
CCAP applicants who have submitted the Request for Academic Placement Measures
Evaluation form and have met with their New Student Advisor are permitted to register for
classes as early as May 10, 2021.
STEP 4 – CCAP APPLICATION
Last question on General Application, select CCAP, then click blue Finish and Submit button to continue to CCAP Application Pt. 1, then Part 2.

You will be notified of CCAP Conditional Acceptance by email no later than May 14, 2021. The acceptance message will be sent to the email address you provided on your Virginia Western application. You will be required to reply.

Once accepted into CCAP, students must:
➢ Complete VWCC Online Orientation
➢ Take the CCAP CSI Survey for new students
➢ Maintain minimum 2.5 GPA (2.0 for Roanoke City)
➢ Maintain minimum nine (9) credits enrollment
➢ Perform 4 hr. service learning project each semester

Ferrum College, Hollins University and Roanoke College offer incentive packages for successful CCAP students to continue their education after completing their degree at Virginia Western.
