Geriatric Update 2010
Military Hospital, Agra is a reputed Zonal hospital in western UP providing medical
cover to troops, families and their dependents and ex-servicemen and their dependents having
clientele more than 4.3 lakhs. This has been a center for postgraduate training in primary
specialties. The clientele includes elite Para (I) Brigade with Special Forces and dependents of
troops hailing from this vast area. The clientele has sizable number of geriatric patients. There is
tremendous advancement in diagnostics and therapeutics of geriatrics, which has grown up to
multi specialties care right from home to hospital. This hospital proposes to hold a CME on
geriatric-care at national level with a target audience of 200.
Programme
Date - 21 March (SUNDAY)
Duration - 01 day
Target audience-200 delegates (civilian and services Medical doctors and geriatric care
providers including Dental doctors, Nurses, Paramedics, Social care volunteers).
Contents - 10 scientific sessions of 10 min presentation and 20 min discussion.
(in each hall total 02 halls)
- 02 hrs workshop (screening for diseases of elderly and elderly
nutrition)
- Social and psychological aspects of geriatric care
Conduct - The delegates will given the proceedings book (approx…200pages) at
the time of registration with necessary writing material and compact Disc souvenir and
certificate .The presentations will be done on MS-PowerPoint in the auditorium with audio
visual equipments. The presentations will be of 10 min duration and discussion including
question answer session will be of 20 min.
02 hour hands on workshop on elderly disease identification, health card filling in and
elderly nutrition will be conducted.
The breakfast, working lunch, High tea and evening snacks will be provided at the venue.
There will be no CME Banquet

AGEING - SOCIAL PERSPECTIVES
Agra – location – Agra is connected by Road, Rail and Air. It is connected from Delhi and all
Metros by train. There is a direct flight from Delhi of Kingfisher airlines. Agra Cantonment is
Located in the centre of Agra City. It is tastefully designed and most carefully maintained by all
the rulers. The Hospital is in Cantonment and spread over good acreage, best landscaped and
claims to have enviable history for itself.
Hotels and accommodations - There are a number of good Hotels suiting all budgets .There is
Army Holiday Home. Almost all PSUs and Govt. deptts have holiday homes in Agra. The
organizing Committee will try its best to accommodate the speaker and delegates as per their
requirement restricted to liaison with concerned facility on behalf of Delegates. How ever, we
encourage all delegates and speaker to come and participate.
Registration – The delegates are requested to register for at the earliest as there are limited seats
left.
