• MAP – Measure of Academic Performance• MAP assessments are aligned to the national
Common Core Standards for Mathematics and Reading.
• It is a multiple-choice assessment.• MAP will be administered 3 times per year to
students in grades 1-5.• Provides a preliminary benchmark of college and
career readiness

• Designed to measure student growth, both during the school year and across multiple school years.
• MAP will be taken on the computer and adapts to each individual student.
• As the students answer questions correctly, the questions become more challenging.
• Since each question is based on how the student performed on the previous questions, students cannot go back to questions they’ve already answered, and they can’t skip any questions..

• Compares how student performed compared with HCPSS and national peers.
• Student Progress Report goes home to families – 1st Quarter Report Cards, Mid-Year and with the 4th Quarter Report Cards.
• Norm Referenced Reports
• Testing Window for the Fall MAP Testing is September 21-October 21.

• Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers
• The PARCC assessment is administered between April 4th and May 13th to grades 3-8.
• The PARCC assessment measures student’s achievement in English Language (ELA) Literacy and Mathematics based on the learning standards contained in the Common Core State Standards.

• The Maryland School Assessment is a measure of student achievement in science in grade 5 (testing content from grades 4 and 5)
• The test will be administered over 2 days in March.• Students take the test in test booklets.• Only given to fifth grade students.
