Full Time Student Status

Students are required to carry a full time course load

This means Grade 9 – 11 students carry eight courses (four

each semester with no study periods)

Grade 12 students carry a minimum of six courses (three in

each semester)

Students must have earned 24 credits and be in their grade

12 year before they are eligible to have a study period

Full Disclosure

Only successfully completed courses from Grades 9

and 10 appear on your transcripts

All Grade 11 and 12 courses that you attempt will

appear on your transcript whether you pass them or

not

A grade 12 student may be able to drop a course

before the full disclosure date

Ask about the full disclosure date at summer school,

night school, or e-learning school if you plan to drop a

course and avoid full disclosure

CREATING PATHWAYS TO SUCCESS

A vision that all students are confident in their ability to

implement and revise their plans throughout school and over

the course of their lives

Students will continue to work on their Individual Pathway

Plan (IPP) and review and revise what they have recorded

about:

• what they have learned about themselves

• opportunities available to them

• their goals

• plans to achieve their goals

MY PATHWAY PLANNER

My Pathway Planner is an interactive Education and Career/Life Planning Tool

It supports students in exploring career options, managing online course option selection for secondary school, developing interactive portfolios of learning and planning for their initial pathway destination

students will use My Pathway Planner as their Individual Pathways Plan (IPP) portfolio to support their Education and Career/Life Planning.

College Diploma Bound

• By the end of Grade 12, Ontario Colleges will require

you to have successfully completed ENG4C in

addition to a mix of C, M, & U type courses, not just

Open courses.

• At some colleges, if your ENG4C is not scheduled in

semester one, they will look at your final mark from

Grade 11 ENG3C.

• Students with an IEP must provide documentation to

their institution if they would like to continue to

receive support.

University or College Degree Bound

• By the end of Grade 12, you must successfully

complete 6 Grade 12 courses with a ‘4M’ or a ‘4U’

code including ENG4U.

• The average of these 6 courses and prerequisites

vary by program and post secondary institution.

You must check the requirements for each

program you plan to apply to.

• These requirements apply to both University and

College Degree programs.

• Students with an IEP must provide

documentation to their institution if they would

like to continue to receive support.

• If taking courses anywhere else, it is your responsibility to

bring an official report card to the Guidance and Career

How Does Timetabling work?

• High school credits in the A.M. and early afternoon

• Dual Credit course in P.M. once/week at a College campus (e.g. Animal Behaviour at Seneca King; Wed. 2:25- 5:05pm)

How does it work?For Grade 12

• Ensure all graduation requirements are met by the end

• Enroll in 4 credit co-op in semester 2 in the relevant

trade sector

• During Semester 2, participate in either an 8-week or a

once weekly college course

• Earn 2 credits, PLUS co-op credits, PLUS earn Level 1
