52 SCRIPTURES FOR EVERY DISCIPLE TO KNOW
A Disciple Is a Steward of His Physical Body 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NKJV)
Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy
Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify
God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

I came across a website that had postings of church
bulletin misprints, http://www.landscapeonline.com
/lcc/lccnews/0402church.htm. Not like we don’t ever make mistakes with The Visitor
or our own church bulletin but these were too funny not
to share with you. I hope they make you laugh. God
must love to laugh, because look, he made humanity.
What could be funnier than us?
Church Bulletin Misprints...
1) Announcement in the church bulletin for a national
prayer & fasting conference: The cost for attending the
fasting and prayer conference includes meals. 2) Miss
Charlene Mason sang, “I Will Not Pass This Way Again”, giving obvious pleasure to the congregation.
3) Ladies, don't forget the rummage sale. It's a chance
to get rid of those things not worth keeping around the
house. Don't forget your husbands. 4) The peacemaking
meeting scheduled for today has been cancelled due to a
conflict. 5) The sermon this morning: Jesus Walks on
the Water. The sermon tonight: Searching for Jesus.
6) Next Thursday there will be tryouts for the choir.
They need all the help they can get. 7) Remember in
prayer the many who are sick of our community.
8) Don't let worry kill you off -- let the church help. 9) At the evening service tonight, the sermon topic will
be What is Hell? Come early and listen to our choir
practice. 10) The senior choir invites any member of
the congregation who enjoys sinning to join the choir.
11) Scouts are saving aluminum cans, bottles, and other
items to be recycled. Proceeds will be used to cripple
children. 12) For those of you who have children and
don't know it, we have a nursery downstairs. 13) Please
place your donation in the envelope along with the
deceased person's you want remembered. 14) Potluck
supper Sunday at 5:00 PM. -- Prayer and medication to
follow. 15) This evening at 7 PM, there will be a hymn sing in the park across from the church. Bring a blanket
and come prepared to sin. 16) The low self-esteem
support group will meet Thursday at 7 PM. Please use
the back door. 17) Weight Watchers will meet at 7 PM
at the First Presbyterian Church. Please use large
double door at the side entrance.
To Him be all the glory,
Jonathan

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO... HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO... FEATURED HOMEBOUND:
From the Pastor’s Desk
What a great week we spent together as we celebrated the STEWARDSHIP OF LIFE EMPHASIS. We praise the Lord
for the eight people baptized Sunday evening. We look forward to see their spiritual growth as disciples of Jesus Christ.
This Sunday we will return to the Stewardship of Discipleship part of THE 52 PROJECT. Our theme this Sunday is A
Disciple Is a Steward of His Physical Body. Now don’t run for the hills thinking I am going to lay a guilt trip on you if you
know you are not quite hitting your mark in this area. I am excited for the positive, encouraging message God has given me
for this week. In preparation for this Sunday, I strongly encourage you to memorize 1 Corinthians 6:19-20,
19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are
not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
Let’s learn some reasons why we are to glorify God in our bodies and consider some ways to do that.
Come Sunday for study and fellowship in your small group, and then let’s enjoy a time of worship together.
I Have You in My Heart,
Dave Stanford
