WOKING DANCE SPACE
presents
Spirit in Motion
Woking Dance Space are delighted to welcome you to Spirit in Motion, our 11th show at the wonderful Rhoda McGaw !eatre. Our studio is a unique resource, run on a voluntary basis by trustees for the community, and providing access to dance for adults of any age or ability. We run a comprehensive timetable of classes from our base in Mayford, and are supported by an amazing group of highly experienced teachers. Classes are available to cater for the complete beginner through to the ex-professional, and we are always amazed by the energy and enthusiasm exhibited by our students. Many of the performers that are on stage for you tonight have never been on stage before!Since our last show in 2011 we have also had a packed schedule of external events and performances featuring many of our dancers, including roles in Iolanthe (courtesy of KASJOG), participation in the Olympic Closing Ceremony, performances in the show of our guest studio, First Dance, and dancing in KASJOG’s recent production of Die Fledermaus. Some of our tappers took part in the One Show record breaking tribute, and we were also represented in the TV pilot “Anything You Can Do” where our ballet ladies walked away with the trophy for some great Street Dancing. !e studio also hosted a workshop by members of the Royal Ballet supporting an exciting collaboration production entitled INALA.Here’s looking forward to another great show and a year of dancing...
