Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine bring the Brothers Grimm to the musical stage with an epic fairytale about wish-es, family and the choic-es we make. Lyric Stage opens its 23rd season with Ste-phen Sondheim and

Harry Parker, Chair of the TCU Department of Theatre, directs the production with Lyric Stage Music Director Jay Dias conducting the Lyric Stage Orchestra. Lyric Stage’s INTO THE WOODS cast includes Andy Baldwin and Mary Gilbreath Grim as the Baker and his wife, Catherine Carpenter Cox as the Witch, Kyle Montgomery as Jack, Mary McElree as Cinderella, Christopher J. Deaton as the Wolf/Cinderella’s Prince, Anthony Fortino as Rapunzel’s Prince, Amy Button as Little Red Riding Hood, James Williams as the Narrator/Mysterious Man, Kelly Silverthorn as Rapunzel, Angela Davis as Jack’s Mother, Seth Womack as the Steward, John Wenzel as Cinderella’s Father, Lucia Welch as Cinderella’s Stepmother, Danielle Estes and Daron Cockerell as Cinderella’s Stepsisters Florinda and Lucinda, Chelsea Coyne as Cinderella’s Mother/Grandmother/Giant, Jād Saxton as Snow White and Emma Colwell as Sleeping Beauty. James Lapine (book) and Stephen Sondheim (music and lyrics) take everyone’s favorite storybook characters and bring them together to create a timeless, modern American musical theater classic. The TONY Award-winning book and score are both funny and heartwarming. INTO THE WOODS follows a Baker and his wife who wish to have a child, Cinderella who wishes to attend the King’s Festival, and Jack who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone’s wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later. Performances of INTO THE WOODS are September 4, 5, 10, 11 & 12 @ 8:00 PM and September 6 & 13 @ 2:30 PM in the Irving Arts Center’s Carpenter Performance Hall, 3333 N. MacArthur Blvd.

And There Were None presented as TEN LITTLE INDIANS by Agatha Christie Richardson Theatre Centre Sept 4 - Sept 20 Directed by Rachael Lindley A group of 8 disparate people, strangers to each other, have all traveled to a weird country estate on an island off the coast of Devon, England believing they have won a fabulous vacation from their unknown and unseen host, the sinister Mr. Owen. Things turn ominous from the be-ginning, however. First their boatmen abandon them; then all communi-cation with the mainland is cut. While their host remains strangely ab-sent, events go from being unsettling to deadly when the guests start dying one at a time, and those who remain realize that they are being slaughtered one by one — but who is responsible? RTC is located at 518 W. Arapaho Rd. Suite 113, next door to Dominos Pizza. Friday July 10 - July 26 Friday & Saturday nights at 8pm; Sunday matinees at 2pm Thursdays July 16 & 23 at 7:30 Tickets: Thursday & Sunday shows: $20 Friday & Saturday nights: $22 Tickets can by reserved by calling 972-699-1130. Please call and leave a message, you will only receive a call back if the show is sold out or there is a problem with your reservation. Tickets are paid for at the box office. Repertory Company Theatre will kick of our 2015-2016 Season with Around the World in 80 Days (a play by Mark Brown adapted from the visionary, classic adventure story by Jules Verne), September 18-27-Promenade Theatre-650 N Coit, Richard-son. Shows: Fr/Sat 7:30, Sun 2:00. Tickets: $20 adults, $18
seniors, $12 youth. Box office: 972-690-5029. www.rcttheatre.com Five actors use lightning fast costume changes to play all 39 characters in a madcap comedy that’s been called “Monty Python meets Jules Verne.” In 1872, Phileas Fogg wagers that he can circle the globe in just 80 days. With his fortune on the line, Fogg and his valet use rail, steamer, and elephant as they race through India, Asia, and America and face one adventure after an-other. This delightful adaptation of Jules Verne’s classic story is fun for the entire family. Unabashedly theatrical…smart enough to make sophisticated adults laugh out loud and shamelessly silly enough to keep children interested and entertained- The New York Times

What is Cooperative Arts News?
The Mission: The CAN organization was created for the purpose of helping cooperative member arts organizations build audiences by supporting each other. CAN will send notifications to list members with news of member organizations' upcoming events and other arts news of interest. The Rules: 1. Since this is a "cooperative" of arts organizations supporting each other, member groups who
would like to post notices, agree to "receive" notifications from other member groups in return. Individuals will have the option at any time to "opt-out" if they choose not to receive future notifications by e-mailing the list manager.
2. In order to preserve the integrity and quality of the postings to this list and to prevent any unwanted "Spamming," all notifications that member groups want to send through this notification list must come through the list manager. Groups simply send an e-mail notification to the list manager with a descriptive write-up and it will be sent. If there are multiple notifications that need to go out, they may be grouped together to reduce the number of e-mails that are sent to the list.
If at anytime, you would like to be removed from this e-mail list or if you are a new organization that would like to join, please e-mail the list manager and your request will be acted upon in a timely manner. As always, thank-you for supporting the performing arts in the North Texas area! Regards, David Witherspoon List Manager d-witherspoon@ti.com
