News from Inmate Services
Two-Year Renewals
Inmate Services Unit (ISU) technicians are completing a visitor clean-up project by completing background reviews on all visitors 15 years and older that have been on your visiting list for two years or longer. Addi-tionally, per Oregon Administrative Rule 291-127-0285 on Visiting (Inmate), any visitor that hasn’t visited in the previous two years will be removed from the inmate’s list unless ISU is notified otherwise. We ask that you consider waiting until your visitor is ready to visit before adding them back to your list. Our visiting application process is very streamlined, so we can complete most applications within a week of re-ceipt unless there is some background issue. This will also help keep your visiting list updated and accurate, and ensure new applications continue to be processed as quickly as possible. What this means:
1. On May 15, 2017, any visitor that has not visited in the past two years will be auto-matically removed from your visiting list.
2. You will receive notifications of visitors that are removed. Again, we recommend you reapply when your visitor is ready to visit.
3. ISU Technicians will focus on completing background checks on all visitors on your vis-iting list for two years or longer, who are still visiting.
4. You will be notified if a visitor is found to no longer be eligible to visit.
The Inmate Services Unit knows how important it is for you to connect with your family and friends, men-tors, and support. We want to help make this clean-up project as smooth as possible, so please share this information with your visitors. If you, your family, or friends have any questions or concerns, please forward them to ISU at the address be-low. Thank you.

Activity Ticket Pick-up Process
Our current process takes one week to process tickets. Please remember to pick-up your activity tickets. If you cant pick-up your tickets because you were working or out on work crew ask your unit officer or supervisor to call and arrange with admin for same day pick-up. If you miss a pick-up we will hold your tickets one extra week after that your tickets are considered a donation to Activ-ities. It is your responsibility to remember to pick-up your tickets not Admin Staff or Activity Mem-bers.

Frito-Lay has announced that they are recalling Jalapeño Flavored Miss Vickie’s Kettle Cooked potato chips due to the potential presence of Salmonella in the seasoning. This action is the direct result of a supplier’s recent recall of a seasoning blend which includes jalapeño powder that could contain Salmonella. Please know that no Salmonella was found in the seasoning supplied to Frito-Lay. They have decided to recall the product out of an abundance of cau-tion. If you have in your possession any of this product that was purchased from January 1, 2017, to present, please return it to your commissary distribution site by May 12th with sales re-ceipt attached for a full refund. From the NWC Photo Shop Due to an overwhelming amount of orders for photos including borders, we are sending out this notice. As of May 1, 2017, any orders received for a photo with a border, (and a border has not been purchases prior to the request) will not be printed. No communication will be sent.
When You Go To The Program
When you go to the program it is your responsibility to have the bracket removed from your TV. To do this take your TV to R&D and they will remove the bracket for you.

New Directions Submission
Here’s what a G.P. Committee member has to say: Here I go again, down that same old road of addiction, 50 years old and
here I am again in prison for the 2nd time due to my meth use.
From the time I turned 20 I have used drugs. Always thinking I was in con-
trol, but I really wasn’t. My addiction was always in control of my life. “A life
of misery.” It’s crazy when I sit here and think, "Where did all the years go?"
Almost 30 years of wasted life to drugs and criminality. I realize now the pain
I was putting my loved ones through. I was always lying, being dishonest, and
stealing from the people who really cared about me and loved me. I also have
a very beautiful wife of 17 years who I know I have emotionally hurt for a
long time. It truly breaks my heart knowing what I have put her through. Be-
ing irresponsible and not giving her the security she well deserves. “A lot of
heartaches.”
Well, miracles really do happen in life. I’m finally given a second chance
and here I am at PRCF AIP program. I have been in the program since July
13th, 2015 and finally getting the break I need in life. Now, 23 months clean
and will be given the tools I need to use when I get back home.
First of all, it needs to start in your heart knowing you want to change and
also accept the fact that you can’t do it on your own. The program is teaching
me many skills. Like how to change my old ways of thinking, how to set
healthy boundaries and make healthy relationships, how to be more assertive,
and open with my communication. Most of all, learning to trust myself in oth-
ers. There is so much more the program has to offer in such little time, but my
heart says it’s time to change now, so I can be a better husband, a better son,
and a better person for my community, and a better man for myself.
If you’re sitting in general population waiting to come into the AIP
Program and are having second thoughts…Stop having those second thoughts
and give your life a chance. Just do it for yourself and for the ones who love
you. We all deserve to be a better man and successful in life.

FIRE CACHE ORDERLY
We are seeking a candidate for a part-time/on-call position for Fire Cache Orderly, preferably with fire crew
or mechanics experience. The candidate must not be part of the PRCF fire crew. Must be outside cleared.

To qualify for this exciting opportunity, you:
Must be a Classification Level 1 Unfenced or Classification Level 2 Community
Your projected release date or start date of eligibility window for treatment should be after 10/01/17.
You must be medically approved to work in the forest. You must be reasonably fit to perform the du-
ties of the assignment with no asthma or heart conditions.
You must be approved by your counselor (Do not request authorization from your counselor.

You will be automatically disqualified if you:
Have been convicted of a sexual offense, including attempts
Have been designated “predatory” in any State
Have been convicted of Arson or attempt
Working as a wild land firefighter is long, hard, strenuous work. The hours can be 10-16
hours a day in inclement weather over uneven terrain, requiring climbing, bending, stooping,
digging and lifting up to 50 pounds repetitively. Pre-qualified candidates must pass the Pack
Test (walk 3 miles with 45 lbs pack in 45 minutes). If you are selected, you will be trained in
wild land firefighting and possibly an additional 40 hours of chainsaw training. In addition,
your training may include various natural resource topics and also First Aid and CPR Certifi-
cation.
The benefits are priceless – you would be working outdoors in a natural setting as part of a
team assisting the Oregon Department of Forestry in maintaining healthy forests and protect-
ing them from wild land fires. You will receive a certificate of program completion and upon
release you will have a job skill in the wild land fire fighting field.
Firefighters earn the following:
PRAS of 12-14 points per day, plus
Meritorious award of $3 per day on fire, plus
IRSA bonus $3 per day per fire (Inmate Reentry Savings Account)
