MESSAGE FROM HOD

Greetings from the HOD. Once again a batch of EEEhas passed out. I wish all the best for their future andlet them have a prosperous career. We are eagerlylooking forward for the next batch of students. Thenew changes in university and curriculum hasbrought a drastic change in the academics and I amhappy that students and the staffs whole heartedlywelcomes these excellent changes. The feedbackfrom the passed out students and the goodadmissions gives me massive satisfaction. It’s theresult of the hard work and passion of mycommitted staff members. We also had grandachievements by the professional bodies . Theprojects by our students has won recogintion ininternational level too. Congratulations to all thestudents and staff members behind this.

INTERNATIONAL LEVEL ACHIEVEMENTS 2016

1.OUTSTANDING STUDENT BRANCH CHAPTERThe IEEE IAS student branch chapter has won Outstanding chapter award beatingDemocritus University of Thrace, Greece for the first time.

2.CHAPTER WEB CONTESTThe website of IEEE IAS ,designed by Ashige Ganesh of S6 EEE has won secondprize in chapter web contest

3.OUTSANDING CHAPTER ADVISOR:Mr. Nikhil Valsan K, Assistant professor,EEE has won the CMD (Chapters andMembership Development) Officer award for outstanding Chapter Chapter Advisor

4. MYRON ZUCKER UNDER GRADUATE DESIGN CONTEST:The main project done by Jyothis Joseph, Meghanath KV, Sachin ranjith, ShejinGeorge,Akash Manoj, Anirudh Jitendran , “Novel MPPT based on board solarcharging system for an electric scooter” under the guidance of Mr. Parag Jose, AP,EEE has won second prize in the MYRON ZUCKER DESIGN CONTEST. Thestudents will receive $600 and IEEE IAS certificate and $400 for student’sacademic department and IEEE IAS certificate. All cash honoraria will be dividedequally among team members. In addition to the cash honorarium, the IAS willreimburse actual travel expenses not to exceed $2,000 per award for the awardwinners to attend the 51st IAS Annual Meeting in Portland, OR, USA, 2-6 October2016. Award winners will have the opportunity to present their projects at theStudent Technical and/or Poster Session of the IAS Annual Meeting 2016

5. ANNUAL MEETING TRAVEL GRANT PROGRAMME(AMTGP):Mr. Jyothis Joseph (S8 EEE), Mr.Meghanath K.V(S8EEE), Mr. Ashige Ganesh(S6EEE), Mr.Priyadarshan C.V (S6EEE),Ms. Haritha AV(S6 EEE), Mr.Robin Thomas(S4EEE) has received AMTGP travel awards to attend IEEE IAS Annual Meeting atPortland, USA from October 2-6 2016

6.STEMSEL TRAINING:Mr. Sacheth Sanal, Mr.Jithin Vidhya Ajith, Mr.Robin Thomas, Mr.Ashwin George of S4EEE has successfully completed a semester long Training Program conductedby StemSel Foundation Australia under Indo Australian Training Industry InteractiveTraining Program.
