STRUCTURESPRESENTED BY:-

INTRODUCTION

A prefabrication structure or building is a structure that has several factory built components that are assembled on a site these pre made components can consist of panels, modules or transportable section.

WORD ORIGIN

The word “Prefab” is not an industrial term. The term is an amalgamation of panelized and modular building system. In today’s usage the term “Prefab” is more closely relate to the style of the home.

HISTORY OF PREFABRICATION STRUCTURE

The prefabrication method was widely used in the construction of prefabricated housing in the 20th century such as in united kingdom to replace housing boomed during world war 2nd . Assembling section in the factories saved time on site and cost reduces.

HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT

CHARACTERISTICS OF PREFABRICATION SYSTEM

• Straight and simple walling scheme• Limited numbers of components• Limited opening in bearing walls.• Limited numbers of doors and windows.

CONCEPT OF PREFABRICATION

The conventional method of building a house is to transport rick, timber, cement, sand, steel and construction aggregates etc. in prefabrication construction only the foundation are constructed in this way, while sections of walls, floors and roof are prefabricated in a factory transported to the site.

PREFABRICATED ELEMENTS

• Flooring• Precast beams• Precast columns• Precast wall panels• Precast slab

PERFORMANCE OF COMPONENTS/ELEMENTS

• Appearance • Structural capability• Thermal properties• Sound insulation• Fire resistance• Moisture resistance

MATERIALS USED IN PREFABRICATION

• Wood• Steel • Cement & it Composited

PROCESS OF PREFABRICATION

Step 1). The floors are assembled first.Step 2). Wall panel are attached next with

balls and nails.Step 3). Attach the roof after the rest of

house is constructStep 4). Installed plumbing, electrical wiring

and dry walls.Step 5). Exterior and interior are added.

PREFABRICATION IN MAJOR CONSTRUCTION

• Prefabricated Bridges • Prefabricated houses

PREFABRICATED BRIDGES

Prefabricated Bridges Elements & System (PBES) offers major time saving, cost saving, safety advantages and convenience for travelers.

PREFABRICATED STEEL BUILDING

• Pre-Engineered steel building (PEB steel)• Pre-Fabricated steel building• Steel building kits

ASSPECTS FOR PREFABRICATION STRUCTURE

• Economy• Fast speed• Suitable space and environmental

constraints• Special architectural requirement in

finishing• Consistency in structural quality control.

LIVE EXAMPLES OF PREFABRICATED STRUCTURES

ADVANTAGES OF PREFABRICATED STRUCTURES• Faster construction• Financing of customers• Environmentally friendly• Returns customers• Factory made project

DISADVANTAGES OF PREFABRICATED STRUCTURES• Less flexibility• Manufacturer reliability• Less time spent on each project• Increased dangers• Leakage from joints

TERMINOLOGIES OF PREFABRICATED STRUCTURES

CURRENT USE

AIM OF PREFABRICATION STRUCTURE

• To effect economy in cost.• To improve the quality of the structure.• To speedup the construction since no

curing period is necessary.• To used locally available material with

required characteristics.

CONCLUSION

Due to the flexibility of the structure in the expandability and appearance this prefab house are best choice. From the several advantages like reusability, high scrap value, durability and less construction. Also they can installed in passive weather condition also.
