Introduction

Type of graphs:

Histograms

Bar graphs

Line graphs

Scatterplots

boxplots

Histograms

From the menu click on Graphs, then select Legacy Dialogs, and then Histogram

Click on Continuous Variables and move it into the Variables box

If you want to generate separate histograms for different groups (violent and non-violent offenders) you can put additional variable (type of criminal) in the Panel by: section

Choose Rows (graphs on top of one another) or Column (side by side)

Click OK

In the Data in Chart Are section, click on Summaries for groups of cases

Click on Define

In the Bars Represent box click on Other statistics (e.g. mean)

Click on continuous variable and move it into Variable box

Move your first categorical variable (age) into the Category Axis

And second one (Type of Criminals) into Define Clusters by
