UCL Grading Procedures Reminder

• New Jobs not previously evaluated• Grading Reviews for occupied posts with

significantly changed duties• Note: Do NOT re-submit jobs:

– Previously evaluated– Minor changes such as:

• change of job title, name of manager or dept• Replacement of one or more tasks by similar tasks

Not sure if changes significant or if same role exists elsewhere?

• Seek guidance from usual HR Consultancy (HRC) Contact

• If amended job description or believe new job similar to/ same as another job elsewhere forward JD&PS (with explanation of key changes) plus original JDO and HERA reference if known so that HRC can decide if still consistent with original grading.

Role holder’s duties grown to extent doing same as a higher

graded post?

• HoD should request that role holder be assigned to the JDO and confirm that doing the same duties and responsibilities, quoting the applicable reference and attaching the JDO.
