Tutorial ServicesThe Student Support Services provides freetutorial assistance in a variety of subjects to allprogram participants. Participants should contacttheir assigned academic counselor to scheduleone-on-one tutoring with qualified tutors.

Student Support Service is designed to providestudents with the critical academic support necessaryfor a successful college experience.

Promoting academic success at Orangeburg-CalhounTechnical College is a major priority of StudentSupport Services. Funded by the Department ofEducation Student Support Services TRIO Grant,the mission is to provide supportive servicesfor eligible students in an attempt to:

• Increase retention rates• Increase graduation rates• Foster a climate of institutional support• Facilitate transfer to four-year institutions forstudents choosing to earn a bachelor’s degree

Students should schedule an entrance interviewwith a counselor who will evaluate thestudent's academic and career goals. Theacademic counselors work closely with studentsto develop an Academic Plan. This processconsists of advising students about selectingclasses, applying for financial assistance,setting academic goals, identifying careeroptions, and utilizing special services such asthe tutoring services.
