Agenda

• NORDP Training Working Group: NROAD to RD framework

• Samar’s program at UTSW• UCSF’s program• Joanna’s program-in-development at Duke SOM• Discussion!

Learning Objectives• To understand the core components of creating a

training program: • Required decisions• Appropriate curriculum components• Evaluation approaches

• To see how these components are reflected in three example training programs

• To set next steps for planning a training program in your office

Why do we need RD trainees?

• Increase visibility of RD institutionally• Introduce trainees to RD and careers in RD• Enhance institutional programming regarding “non-

traditional” careers• Build a pipeline of RD staff and contractors• Test RD training materials relevant to RD staff

onboarding & skill development

What are your goals for a training program?
