Ryan Maloney (Lingstar) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provision of

in when insufficiently clear of Bolshoi Belle thereby taking that horse in off its course and
tightening the running of Sintara resulting in both horses being tightened for room and
having to be checked. R Maloney had his licence to ride in races suspended for a total of
eleven meetings to commence midnight 2 February, 2016 and to expire midnight 11
February, 2016 (4 metro, 7 provincial). In assessing penalty the Stewards were of the view

Race 8 PROGREE SIGNS HANDICAP - 2435 metres:
Michael Carson, rider of Cliffs Dream (second placegetter), lodged an objection against
Prospector being declared the winner on the grounds of alleged interference over the
concluding stages. On the evidence it was established that Cliffs Dream which had initially
shifted in, was then bumped approaching the winning post by Prospector which shifted in
abruptly before being straightened by its rider. Stewards were of the view that the incident
had occurred approaching the winning post and did not affect the placings, therefore the
objection was dismissed and Correct Weight was declared.
Cliffs Dream Received a 1.5kg penalty for winning at Warrnambool (28 /01/2016). New
handicap weight of 57kg. On arrival on course underwent a veterinary examination and was
passed suitable to race. Raced wide throughout without cover.

of Kawabata.

the early and middle stages and when held up for a run passing the 500 metres until the 300
metres was taken back through the field by Kinjulator, which was giving ground. He added,
that being held up had a detrimental effect on his chances. A post race veterinary examination
failed to reveal any obvious abnormality.
Kawabata - Rider Dale Smith was severely reprimanded for breaching the provisions of
AR137(A)(5)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip on six occasions prior to the 100 metres.
