Fifty-six members of theKalamazoo County high schoolClass of 2011 will be honoredwhen the Excellence in Educa-tion program celebrates its 25thanniversary with a receptionWednesday.

Excellence in Education willrecognize graduates from pub-lic and nonpublic high schoolsfor academic achievements andallow them to recognize twoeducators whowere significantin their K-12 education.The program also awarded

10 Educator Incentive Grantsfor the 2010-11 school year. Thegrants will allow them to ex-plore new ideas they may nototherwise have the opportunityto pursue.John Goudie, an instructor

at the Kalamazoo Area Math-ematics & Science Center,and Nancy Looper, an Englishteacher at Parchment HighSchool, will speak about theirexperiences with Excellence inEducation.Winners represent students

with the highest grade-pointaverages in their school’sgraduating class. The numberof honorees for each school isbased on enrollment.
