ABOUT

TOBA, Inc. is a holding company for eight individual Limited Liability Corporations in the food industry. These businesses specialize in various aspects of the industry including food manufacturing, food distribution, equipment and supply distribution, and food service marketing.

TOBA entered food distribution in 1995 with the purchase of The Thompson Company in Grand Island, Nebraska and expanded with the acquisitions of Braunger Foods (2002; Sioux City, Iowa) and Variety Foods (2007; Sioux Falls, South Dakota). These distribution facilities combined enjoy 300,000 square feet of modern multi-temperature warehouse space; over 100 fleet trucks; and a sales staff of over 60 district representatives and specialists. Food is distributed to thousands of customers across seven states in the Midwest.

In addition to food distribution, TOBA is an industry leader in food manufacturing via DI Manufacturing (2004; Omaha, Nebraska) and Taste Traditions (2013; Omaha, Nebraska). Both businesses manufacture premium products that are sold in retail and food service locations on a world-wide basis under their own Deli International and Taste Traditions labels. Both are also prominent private label manufacturers and call some of America’s premier food manufacturers and restaurants as customers.

Now approaching its 80th year, The Thompson Company is a modern, broad-line food service distributor. Though Thompson still carries candy and tobacco, sales of those categories are but a small fraction of overall sales.

The Thompson Company is capable of handling any food operator’s needs. Distribution customer segments include: mom-and-pop restaurants, white-tablecloth, bars, bowling alleys, schools, delis, regional chains, convenience stores, and grocery retail.

Thompson also has the ability to deliver next-day, fresh-cut, premium steaks to all of its customers via our own Braunger label. Steaks are expertly cut to customer’s exact specifications by professional meat cutters on a daily basis and delivered on Thompson trucks.

The Thompson Company is the largest school distributor in the State of Nebraska, counting over 550 schools.

Thompson delivers as far West as Fort Morgan, Colo. and as far East as Des Moines, Iowa. It also covers portions of South Dakota and Kansas, as well as all of Nebraska. The Thompson Company is a UniPro distributor, which gives it purchasing power and product selection to match anyone.
