Reading

Next week in reading we will start learning about nonfiction text fea-tures, and how they help us better understand what we are read-ing. We will focus on headings, subheading, bold words, dia-grams, illustrations, photo-graphs, and captions. Whew! That seems like a lot, but students are already very familiar with these things. We will have another cold read passage for students to com-plete on Thursday, where they will use these text features to help them answer questions about what they have read.

Math

We will work on measuring

length to the nearest inch, half,

and quarter inch this

week. Please give your child

things to measure at

home. This is great practice!

We will use the data we gather

from measuring to make a

line plot.
