Theres nothing like cities so exciting, you wouldnt want to sleep until you get back home
Awesome Australia
Exciting Sydney
V ibrant and vivacious, picturesque and playful, restful and relaxing Australian cities are an eclectic mix of 21st century hi-tech and historical charm. While the boulevards are bustling, the alleys are hidden and enchanting. Filled to the brim with sights and sounds, art and architecture, leisurely days and lively nights, Australian cities boast a caf culture that makes for ideal chill-outs, pubs and clubs that make for cool hangouts, shopping that gives any credit card a decent
savouring Australias cant-miss landscapes and laid-back lifestyle. Australias domestic airlines serve all state capital cities and regional centres
SOME UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCES IN AUSTRALIAS CITIESSydney: The harbour of excitementSydney is a global city bursting with exhilaration, an urban beach lifestyle and the worlds most iconic harbour. Jump on a ferry and get up close and personal with the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Then again, you can always go on the bridge climb and be awed by the billion-dollar views. Another spectacular sight is from the Sydney Skywalk a glass-floored viewing platform perched over the edge of Sydney Tower and 260 metres above the street. Visit The Rocks and get a real sense of Australias colonial history. After which you can check out Sydneys beautiful beaches, including Manly and the world-famous Bondi Beach.
Perth: The chill-out parkPerth is famous for its relaxed lifestyle, where outdoor leisure pursuits abound. Go yachting or parasailing on the beautiful blue waters of the Swan River, or cycle around the Perth foreshore. Work on your tan on some of the best beaches in the world or picnic in Kings Park, with 400 hectares of natural bush, parkland and gardens where you can stroll, cycle or just lay back and admire Perths skyline. Do call into Fremantle for a cuppa coffee on its renowned Cappuccino Strip.
Melbourne: The culture of good timesTreasures abound in the cobblestoned laneways of Melbourne. Discover swanky bars, authentic restaurants, secret art spaces and off-the-beaten-track boutiques. Find fashion originals in Flinders Lane and check out Union Lanes bold graffiti mural. Visit galleries and see
workout, plus a world-class public transport system that makes getting around a breeze.
Get the most out of your trip to Australia by taking in the sights and sounds of popular city gateways. But instead of just staying in one city, why not hop on a quick flight to the next city destination, made easy by the availability of good flight connections. Flying is the best way to cover large distances in a short time. Youll spend less time travelling and more time on the ground

Have a Whale of a time on The Great Sunshine WaySouthern Queensland
Each year, between the months of July and November, the sea waters off the east coast of Queensland, transform into a giant aquatic playground for no less than 14,000 humpback whales, which make their annual winter pilgrimage from the Antarctic to warmer oceans to breed.
The best way to enjoy this amazing spectacle is to join a whale-watching cruise. You get to come up close to the humpback whales, sometimes no further than an arms length, and marvel at these massive 40-tonne creatures perform their acrobatic stunts.
Hervey Bay is one of the many locations in Queensland to do whale-watching. Over 30% of these magnificent mammals are believed to stop over here during their return leg of the migration with their young, earning this coastal city on Queenslands Fraser Coast the accolade Whale Watch Capital of the World.
The Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast are also ideal places to spot these migrating humpback whales.
You can book a half or full day whale-watching tour that departs from Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast or Fraser Coast. Dont miss this extraordinary experience!
The Great Sunshine WayBlessed with year round sunshine and a mild winter, Queensland is the perfect destination for couples and families alike. Explore the beautiful destinations of Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast at your own pace.

exciting range of wines. Several of these also have superb restaurants to complete the wine touring experience.
For those who like a little adventure, play a round of golf at Barnbougle Dunes Golf Links, and the forest canopy walk in Hollybank Forest is a must-do activity. At Beauty Point, enter the wondrous world of seahorses and endangered marine creatures, then meet families of platypus in a fascinating discovery centre. Tour the Bridestowe Lavender Farm, flowering mid-December to mid-January.
NORTHWEST COASTThe further westward visitors travel in Tasmania, the more remote things become and one gets the impression that, thats just the way the locals like it. From Launceston, a short two and half hour drive due west brings one up into the high country of Cradle Mountain National Park.
Go on a foodie journey as you stock up on raspberries at Christmas Hills and English country-style cheese at Ashgrove, and sample delicious salmon and ginseng products at 41 South Tasmania and chocolate at House of Anvers.
Naturally, Cradle Mountain attracts people who wish to immerse themselves in the wilderness or experience the beauty of pristine lakes, towering mountains and wildlife species that are distinct to Tasmania. Spend some time in the country-estate surroundings of the MGallery Cradle Mountain Lodge, relax in its cosy setting, see Tasmanian Devils and walk the picturesque Dove Lake.
Out of the park and on the coastline bordering Bass Strait the main townships are Devonport, Wynyard and Stanley. Further westward, Burnie is home to arts and crafts centres, a whisky distillery, a pioneer village and Makers Workshop, which is home to artisans and artists.
Take time to get to know Stanley, one of the finest colonial-era villages in Australia. To work up your appetite for local food, walk up The Nut, the remains of an extinct
volcano or take the Woolnorth Tour to Cape Grim to breathe the cleanest air in the world.
WESTERN WILDERNESSTasmania is noted for its picturesque natural scenery and it doesnt get any more dramatic than on the remote west coast. Rivers, lakes, coastlines, mountains and forest combine to make the region one of the most stunning landscapes in the world. Queenstown is the main town in the area, with the small settlement of Strahan being about as far west as visitors can access on the island. The area is accessible by good roads from Hobart to the southeast and Launceston to the northeast. Walking trails and 4 x 4 tracks provide access for adventurers to reach the remotest areas. Guided wilderness adventures into the Franklin Gordon Wild Rivers National Park await those who are fit enough and well prepared. Strahan is the base for travelling along the tranquil and scenic waterways Macquarie Harbour and the Gordon River. Back in Strahan, check out The Ship that Never Was, a theatre production. This longest running in Australia tells the true story of the last ship built on Sarah Island and how it was stolen by convicts who used it to escape.

When people mention Chengdu, the image of Sichuan peppers and cute pandas come immediately to mind. Look beyond that, and youll find so much more glorious scenery that brings peace of mind, friendly locals wholl gladly impart the art of drinking Chinese tea, and pious believers wholl journey tirelessly to ancient temples to thank the Gods for another good year.
FACE OF PEACELocated east of Leshan City and about a two-hour ride from Chengdu, the Giant Buddha of Leshan () is affectionately called Dafo in Chinese. Its exactly what its name claims the largest Buddha in the world at a staggering 71 metres, with shoulders measuring 28 metres wide, each eyebrow stretching 5.5 metres across, and his smallest toenail capable of accommodating a full-grown adult seated down.
It is said to be the brainchild of a Chinese monk named Haitong who lived in the 8th century. Haitong had hoped that the presence of the Buddha would calm the turbulent waters that plagued the shipping vessels traversing the area. The project was colossal Dafo would take 90 years to complete, workers carved the entire statue out of the Xiluo Peak of
Mount Lingyun. Eventually, Haitongs plan worked, though not entirely for its supernatural reasoning, but also due to the enormous amount of rubble deposited in the river from the carvings, thus altering currents and calming the waters.
Devout Buddhist followers and photography fans visit this UNESCO World Heritage Site faithfully, many offering silent prayers as they bow before the seated Maitreya Buddha. Photo opportunities are aplenty; either at a terrace next to his ear, or down a winding stairway to the mountain bottom where his feet are. Dont be surprised if you see people taking eons just to get their photo angle right whether its smoothing Dafos hair or touching his ears for these are supposed ways for longevity and good luck.
TEMPLES ON A MOUNTDirectly opposite the Giant Buddha is the beautiful Mount Emei (). Meaning delicate eyebrow, Mount Emei derives its name from its two peaks Wanfo (Ten Thousand Buddha) Summit and Golden Summit, which put together resembles the delicate eyebrows of a Chinese beauty. A UNESCO World Heritage Site together with the Leshan scenic area, Mount Emei carries with it an utmost religious significance, since this is where Chinas first Buddhist temple was built atop the Golden Summit, the religion brought forth via the Silk Road from India in the 1st century AD.
At the base of Mount Emei sits Baoguo Temple (). Built during the Ming dynasty (1368-1644), the site was previously named Huizong Hall, which symbolises the combination of three religions: Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism. Later, Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) ordered for a name change to Baoguo Temple, which literally translates to dedication to ones country, since the Buddhist doctrine believes this to be the foremost calling of a believer.
Baoguo Temple is a popular pilgrimage site for Buddhist followers, and the must-go temple to visit should tourists not wish to take the five kilometres hike to the top of Mount Emei (about 10 hours on foot). As the largest temple on Mount Emei, the complex is divided
into four ascending temple halls. While most will make their way steadily up towards the topmost hall, Baoguos main hall is at the second tier, where the huge Buddha Sakyamuni sits impressively on his lotus throne, flanked by Buddhas eighteen disciples in the two side rooms.
Located at the mountains midsection, Wannian Temple () is accessible after a seven-minute cable car ride and then up a solitary stairway that leads to the temple grounds. Only that it isnt just any stairway it is a 223-step stairway, which no doubt only the deeply pious and determined will think nothing of. The temples main attraction, a 7.85 metre statue of Bodhissattva Puxian (also known as Samantabhadra) riding on a six-tusked white elephant weighing a staggering 62 tonnes, is housed in the temples Dome Hall, and was built in honour of Mount Emeis patron saint.
WHATS SPICY IS HOTYou cant say youve been to Chengdu, if you havent had a shot at Sichuan cuisine or specifically, a dish that has
Sichuan peppers in it. An important flavouring in local fare, these peppercorns give Sichuan food its distinctive spicy flavour. Popular dishes include the famous Sichuan mala hotpot and mapo tofu (silky tofu in hot sauce).
As the birthplace of one of Chinas four major cooking styles, Chengdu is also bursting with food options galore, earning its reputation as a UNESCO City of Gastronomy Asias first and only city to be awarded with this honour. More than just spices, Sichuan cuisine is also sour, sweet and salty; using a good mix of soy sauce, vinegar, fermented soy beans and hot pickled mustard greens. Meats like poultry and beef make regular appearances more so than seafood: think signature dishes such as ginko in stewed chicken (), twice-cooked pork (), and kung pao chicken ().
If you are looking for a holiday filled with gastronomy treats and gorgeous ancient sites then let this capital of Sichuan wow you

PRETTY PICTURE PERFECTLocated in Hongya County, LiuJiang Old Town() looks somewhat like a beautiful oil painting traditional Chinese garden-styled residences, gently flowing brooks, quaint teahouses and gorgeous mountain scenery stretching for miles and miles. Before Chinas Liberation in 1949, the town was dominated mainly by a few wealthy households, of which Zeng Jia Yuan (Zengs Family Garden /) is the best-preserved, and the only one open to visitors now. Dating back to 1927, the site took 10 years to build. The Zengs allocated specific pavilions for tea and chess sessions, a courtyard for hosting seasonal performances, and another one for their sleeping quarters.
Fast forward to the present, LiuJiang Old Town now has a population of about 4,000, with a soothingly relaxed pace of life, and commercialisation has thankfully not completely seeped in yet. Its common to see friendly locals standing by their doors smiling invitingly, laughing kids and adults challenging obstacles at the towns water play area, wizened old men bent over their game of chess at a teahouse, or housewives washing clothes along the rivers domino-looking bridge made simply by lining paving stones across one end to the other.
