she wore a very cute costume, which was borrowed from her daughter-in-law, Heidi, and granddaughter Jamie. NEIL Hale, the King, was DJ and, of course, he did his usual outstanding job; he was assisted by Princess Linda who looked absolutely gorgeous in her flapper costume. I think if prizes had been given out though, Pete and Norma would have received Best Dressed—they looked fantastic. See photos on Page 4.
Our next dance on November 1 is our ‘post’ Hallow-een celebration at TWIN PINES. DJ for this dance is GARY Clayton, and the theme is .. “In My Next Life I’d Like To Be”. What would you like to be in your next life? My twin and I would like to be “Pole Dancers”, although coming back as a cat might be pleasant, especially if I was as indulged as our late little Priscilla. When I asked Pete what he would like to be, he said “Tod’s father”. So, put your thinking caps on and use your imagination.
I know you all love Twin Pines, and you also like Mahany Hall, but I wish to point out that Twin Pines is now $425.00 for a normal Saturday dance, Mahany Hall is $300.00 (and we have to set-up and take-down), so Barrett is a bargain at $200.00. By-the-way, we once again had a visit from our Fairy Godparent, who gave us a very generous donation of $650.00, which pays for Twin Pines on New Year’s Eve; you know who you are, and we are so grateful for your generosity. Please get your reservations in for Glitz at the Ritz.
Cheerio, Anni
A note from Anni:
Anni Wunderlich, President
Hi Everyone:
Well, Richard and I are off again, this time to Guadala-jara and Peuerto Vallarta. We’ll be joined in PV by our daughter and son-in-law who live in San Diego, so we’re really looking forward to spending the week with them. Mid November we’re off to Texas; on our trip to Tur-key/Greece, we met 22 Texans from the same commu-nity, so we’ve been invited to a reunion. Then we’ll be driving to Branson with two of the couples; we’ll be spending about a week there, will just get back in time for Thanksgiving.
Our Club T-shirt Dance on October 4, was a great suc-cess. MIKE ‘n JOYCE were the DJ’s; I think they just keep getting better and better, don’t you? Those of you that had CQ’s T-shirts wore them, and I thank you; those of you that didn’t and wore other clubs’ T-shirts, I thank you too, we must keep all clubs alive and remem-bered.
The theme for our October 18 dance was Roaring Twen-ties; this was Jeanette’s suggestion and now I see why,
