Pastor Oglethorpe, the enthusiastic minister of Mount
Pleasant Baptist Church, has enlisted the gospel sing-
ing Sanders Family in his efforts to bring his tiny con-
gregation into “the modern world.” Between songs,
each family member “witnesses” - telling a story
about an important event in their life. “ A charming
and funny celebration of
Americana.” - The New York

Our School Tour
Anansi the Spider Sponsored by
Alpha Orthodontics
The trickster, Anansi, angers the sky god, Nyame; first
by stealing his proverbs, then by falling in love with
his daughter, the beautiful Aso. Nyame requires the
spider to prove his worth by passing an impossible
test. A comical story with many a universal truth.
The SCT tour can educate and entertain your young
ones in your very own school gym. Please encourage
your school to consider booking this opportunity.
Here’s Your Opportunity to Make Dreams Come True SUPPORT OUR YOUTH
The SCT Board of Directors has committed to assuring that no young person be turned away from
the theatre for financial reasons. Please help “support our youth” through our annual “end-of-the-year”
appeal! This campaign has been happening for the past ten years, and has made scholarships available to
hundreds of children; and kept tuition for all our students as low as possible.
More than 20% of our current students receive scholarship help with their tuition on a sliding scale
dependent on financial need and family size.
Stebens Children’s Theatre is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. At SCT only volunteers are used
to raise financial support; so there are no hidden or outside fundraising costs. Every dollar donated will be
used in support of student tuition costs.
Please help support these North Iowa young people with your tax-deductible gift. Donations may
be mailed or brought to the box office. Please designate your gift to the “end-of-the-year” fund. Thank
you for your generosity and support!

Once Upon a Time Story Drama
10:00-10:45 a.m. Saturdays Preschool Ages 4-5
Everyone loves a good story especially when it comes alive
through story dramatization. Each week the children will
play creative drama games, listen to a traditional rhyme,
folktale or story and then improvise the story with their
friends. Goldilocks, Humpty Dumpty, Billy Goats Gruff
and more all await you on Saturday mornings. Join the
fun!
There Once Was a Giant…, There Once Was a Secret
Door…, There Once Was a Hole in the Ground... 11:00-11:50 a.m. Saturdays Ages 5-7
Each week students will be presented with the beginning of
a new story that has no ending! Together, the group will
create the rest of the story through discussion and dramati-
zation. A new original story will be created each week to
act out and enjoy!
Contact SCT box office to sign up now. Fee is $40 each.
