In the Fall – changes will occur to the screening process and how to submit the package
In the Spring – changes will occur to the interview.

Upcoming Changes: Fall 2018
1) Electronic submission of packages and the electronic distribution to screening and interviews teams.
2) Screening will consist of 3 references checks, Leadership Framework and the Readiness Essay.
3) A score of 70 out of 100 is required to move on to an interview.
Upcoming Changes: Spring 2019
1) Screening continues as outlined in the previous slide
2) Final Interview moves to a 7-10 minute ‘readiness’ oral presentation based on the question:
Please discuss your leadership experiences and how they have prepared your for the role of P/VP
3) Candidates will then answer 5 follow up questions, one from each of the 5 areas of the framework.
Coming for the Fall of 2019 will be the requirement to have Special Education Part One on your OCT for Vice-Principal candidates.

Written Response to Leadership PromptThis written submission will be assessed and used as one tool in determining leadership readiness.
The format of your submission must:
─ be no more than two pages
─ be double-spaced
─ use Arial, size 10 font
─ clearly include the prompt at the top of the first page
Your submission will be critiqued on:
─ your leadership capacity in action as it positively impacts student achievement and well-being
─ your ability to work effectively within a diverse school community
─ your ability to affect change that outlives your direct leadership influence
─ your written communication skills (must be coherent, demonstrate logical development and contain no errors)

Reference Check
Screening
A screening team will review your package to ensure it
includes all of the required sections. All applicants will be
assessed using established criteria and guidelines.
Applicants who hold the skills, experience and qualifications
will be invited to participate in the interview process.
Candidate must ensure that the application package is
complete and submitted by the deadline August 29, 2018
Presentations and Interview The interviewing team will be comprised of trustees, superintendents and a representative from the appropriate Peel vice-principal/principal association.
We will provide employment accommodation (i.e. an accessible location, rescheduling of interviews that fall on holy days) if we are advised of an applicant's needs in advance of any part of the selection process.
Candidates are required to prepare and speak for five minutes each on 2 of the domains for the VP position and 3 domains for the Principal position
The interview team will engage in a dialogue with candidates after the presentation of each competency and may probe for further information through follow-up questions.
The interviewing team will ask additional questions pertaining to the other domains and competencies.
This meeting will last about 40 minutes.
