Today Paper is made From:
• Recycled Paper/Cardboard• Wood• Saw Dust• Wood Chips• Leftovers From Lumber
Operations
Two Tracks to paper
1. Trees and Wood Byproducts
2. Recycled Paper
The Life Cycle of Paper Can Be Broken Down to 9 Steps For
Recycled Content Paper
1. Buying Paper2. Using Paper3. Recycling!?!4. Picking up/Transporting to Recycling
Facility5. Processing at Recycling Center6. Shipping to Markets7. Processing into Paper8. Shipping back to consumers9. Sold to consumers
1. Buying Paper1. Why 2. How much do we really need
2. Using Paper1. What are we using it for?
Vs.Vs.
3.3. Recycling/GarbageRecycling/Garbage
- - In 2005 the percent of paper/cardboard In 2005 the percent of paper/cardboard recycled was 51.5%.recycled was 51.5%.
- That means nearly 50% goes into garbage!- That means nearly 50% goes into garbage!
4. Picking up/Transporting to Recycling Facility.
5. Processing at Center
Baling the paper
One Bale of paper weighs 1,650 lbs
That is 165,000 sheets of copier paper or 42,000 sheets of News Paper!
Rice County Recycling Center ships out about 55,700 lbs. of Paper and 133,300
lbs. of Cardboard per week.
That is about 4,900 tons a year
