In this virtual event, Julia Grauvogel will talk about her work applying QCA to thestudy of international sanctions, based on her co-authored article (with Christianvon Soest) in the European Journal of Political Research and a forthcoming chapterin the Research Handbook on Economic Sanctions (Edward Elgar Publishing, 2021).

Julia Grauvogel is a Senior Research Fellow at theGerman Institute for Global and Area Studies (GIGA)and the Editor of Africa Spectrum. Her research oninternational sanctions and authoritarian regimeshas been published in leading journals such asInternational Studies Quarterly and the Journal ofModern African Studies. Currently, she leads a projectfunded by the German Research Association (DFG)on the termination of international sanctions.
