GSN Technical Capabilities

Underground Design

Duct bank conduits are automatically generated from one guide conduit.

Duct bank conduits are automatically encased by concrete. A report will list the concrete required for each duct bank run.

Underground DesignCross Sections

and Automated Annotations

Section marks are placed manually and their positions saved to the database so that that may be recalled when needed.

A proven technique is to use view ports to pull the cross section from one master drawing to drawings that contain

several cross sections.

Designing Trays

Use dwgs or dgns as backgrounds to route trays and conduits.

Just draw lines and TrayMatic creates all straights and fittings automatically.

Tray stacking is automatic. Offsets are computed accurately to maintain spacing. Service levels and tray type are also assigned automatically.

Connecting Equipment To Tray

Conduits can be routed automatically to the nearest acceptable tray respecting cable segregation and separation or designed manually to follow the building steel. Conduit sizing is optionally automatic.

Tray Automatic Annotations

Place leader lines where you want the tags to appear. Leader lines are saved in the database and tags are automatically generated.

Construction Friendly Tray Isometrics

Construction friendly tray isometrics are very easy to make. Complete with legend and bill of material .. this construction drawing will become part of your standard of excellence.

Export Model for Plant Review or Clash Detection

Any or All TrayMatic electrical components are exportable to graphical formats for any Plant Design system. In some situations, surface models are preferable for plant review or for special rendering software. A “solids” graphical output is required for clash detection programs such as used by PDS.

Electrical Design - Cable Routing CableMatic Plus (CM+) is used to automatically route the cables, obeying the following rules:

1) NEC Tray Fill

2) NEC Conduit Fill

3) Segregation and Nuclear Safety Separation

4) Cable Route -Shortest Length Minimizing Bends

CM+ uses an extremely fast cable routing algorithm that makes it practical to reroute all cables as may be needed due to raceway design changes. Manual routing or routing adjustments may also be used when there are special circumstances.

Cable List Using Spreadsheet Data Entry

As a standard method of data entry, our spreadsheet program, DBView, is used for creating data. This program will extract data from the database by any combination of data columns. Work can be performed by many people focusing on different cables and different data columns.

Multi Function Cable/Equipment Data Entry

This form provides a convenient method to review and update cables and equipment.

The form is also useful when an individual cable route requires a manually designed route or when a route requires editing.

Cable Schedule

Cable and conduit schedules can be generated with filtering and/or sorting by practically any data. Changes from the last engineering release are highlighted for both engineering review and for construction planning.

Cable Bill of Material

Companies that use TrayMatic for raceway design will find that cable lengths are very accurate.

Tray Bill of Material

Companies that use TrayMatic for raceway design will get a detailed tray BOM. This report can only be created by TrayMatic and can be requested from Electrical Engineering. The report can be generated for any plant or group of plant areas and should be useful for planning purposes.

Conduit Bill of Material

Companies that use TrayMatic for raceway design will get a detailed conduit BOM. This report can only be created by TrayMatic and can be requested from Electrical Engineering. In this example, the underground conduits are counted. The report can be generated for any plant or group of plant areas and should be useful for planning purposes.

Modifying Termination Changes in Real Time

In the perfect world, engineering will develop the wiring data in the engineering office. However, as new data arrives form vendors, changes have to be made in the field. The GSN system will alert the constructor if a termination ticket has already been printed and data has changed.

Tracking Cable Pulls

Cable pulls are recorded on the cable pull installation ticket and the length and reel numbers recorded in the field office.

Tracking Terminations

Terminations are recorded on the termination installation ticket and the from/to status is recorded in the field office.

R.I.T.S MethodRaceway Installation Tracking System

Raceway installation tracking is performed using a spreadsheet.

Cable Reel Inventory

Cable reel data is entered via spreadsheets and cut lengths summed and subtracted from the length received.

Cable Progress and Inventory

This report indicates status of cable pull and terminations by cable type. A summary for each service class is also included.
