For over 50 years Eaton has been the leading manufacturer of highly reliable main engine fuel pumps. These main engine fuel pumps are highly designed, precision mechanical pumps, mounted to the aircraft’s engines that maintain the fl ow of fuel to the engine at a precise rate and pressure. Eaton’s main engine fuel pumps are installed on 70% of the commercial jet engines currently fl ying today. They are utilized on military, commercial, regional and business aircraft engines worldwide.
This series of gear fuel pumps contain a centrifugal boost stage, fuel fi lter, and gear stage. Fuel supplied by the aircraft boost pump enters the boost stage, which increases pressure 125 psi (862 kPa). This pressure forces heated and fi ltered fuel through internal passages to the gear stage. Fuel is directed to the fuel control where it is re-fi ltered and returned to the fuel control.

Fuel supplied by the aircraft boost pump enters the fuel pump boost stage, which increases pressure. Boost stage output fl ows through a cooler, main heat exchanger, and the pump fuel fi lter and then into the high-pressure gear stage. Bypass fl ow from the fuel control joins the boost stage discharge and re-enters the gear stage. A high-pressure relief valve permits the entire pump discharge fl ow to return to the gear stage inlet. This limits gear stage pressure.
