2.1) Description of the machine
The CN312Dm and CN312Sm are numerically controlled indent marking machines. These machines have been de-signed to be integrated in a special machine or on a production line. They are the ideal solution for the marking ofparts in all shapes and forms on flat or curved surfaces.
It can be reliably and rigidly attached by the rear side using two M8 attachment bolts and two positioning holes.
These micro-percussion marking machines are designed for the vibrating electro-magnetic stylus to move in both X and Y directions across the marking table. The machine’s control unit will manage the marking with the internal program. The combination of these technologies permits fast and precise marking of all types of alphanumeric char-acters or logos.

6.1) General maintenance
Maintenance consists basically in checking the quality of the marking.
After very intensive use of the equipment the characters could become deformed. This means that the carriage gui-des or the stylus point tolerances are no longer correct.
It is recommended to contact your distributor to set up a revision date that will minimize the down-time of yourequipment.
6.2) Changing the stylus
Since the body of the stylus is made up of light alloys, it should be carefully examined periodically. It is especially important that the threads of the stylus be examined for impurities. Impurities on the stylus threads may cause your unit to jam, producing irreparable damage.
Tighten the stylus manually, using your index finger and thumb. Do not use any tools to tighten the stylus.

8.2) Information relative to noise level
The numerical values mentioned below are acoustic values of the machine’s noise level during marking. They areto be distinguished from sound levels that an operator can be exposed to, these being variable, depending on the en-vironment when the machine is in operation.
According to the NFS 31031 and NFS 31025 specifications, the following has been measured :
• At an average level: LAeq = 80.3 dB(A),
(LAeq = continuoaus level equivalent to acoutic pressure at the work station).
• At peak level: Lpc < 83.2 dB(A).
