What modern language courses are offered ? We offer classes in:

The proficiency levels of our courses are:- Elementary-level courses (101 & 102 level)- Intermediate-level courses (103 & 104 level)- Near-native level language courses (105 & 106 level)- Courses in Italian and Portuguese for native speakers of Spanish (107 level)- Intensive elementary courses (110 level)- Literature courses for native speakers (200 level)

Exploit your bilingual skills You may earn up to 9 credits by taking one three-

credit advanced-level language or literature course1. take the placement exam to prove your proficiency in the

language2. register for an advanced-level language or literature course3. you will receive regular credits for the class that you

registered for (usually 3 credits). In addition, you will receive 3 to 6 exemption credits that you can use as Liberal Arts or unrestricted elective credits

Note

- In some majors (e.g., Bilingual Education, Business Management, International Management, and International Business option), you are not allowed to use exemption creditstoward graduation. You can still transfer exemption credits to a 4-year college.
