Graduation The goal of SHS is to prepare your student for life after high school in a career, post secondary education, or military setting. Through careful course selection we are able to design a pathway geared towards your students interest area that also meet the state requirements for graduation from high school.

� Graduating with an endorsement requires earning 26 credits ~ recommended graduation plan

� To earn a credit you must have an average of 70 or higher each semester

� You must have 90% attendance**

**Credit will be taken away if you don’t meet 90% attendance!!** (TEC Ch.25)

� Who should take DC? -Upper level -Self Motivated -Willing to work at college

level

� Who pays for DC? - Students pay for textbooks - SHS pays for tuition*

� Angelo State University-(Core classes):English; US History; Math

Texas State Technical College- (Elective classes):Welding; Wind Energy*; Medical Office Specialist; Auto-Mechanic; Diesel Mechanic

� Western Texas College(Core and Elective):Government; Economics; Spanish; Speech; Child Development

How does my student sign up for Dual Credit?

•Recommendation form (if core)•Sign Dual Credit Handbook (must have parent signature)•Complete application to respective school•Request SHS transcript•TSI compliant

Students must meet the following deadline for Dual

Credit:

•April 29th •TSI compliant•Any and all DC applications and handbook forms completed and returned to Counseling Center

•Counselors will place students in Dual Credit course ONLY when the requirements have been met

Dual Credit students will need to sign and return the Dual Credit Handbook
