SureCross™ DX91 Wireless Node for Hazardous Locations
DX9x control modules must be installed in a suitable enclosure acceptable to the local inspection authority having jurisdiction. The enclosure must have provision for Class I, Division 2 wiring method in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) for Canada and the National Electrical Code (NEC) for the United States.
Warning - Explosion Hazard - Do not disconnect equipment unless power has been switched off or the area is known to be non-hazardous.
The field circuits are not limited energy. Field devices must therefore be certified for installation in Class I, Division 2 hazardous locations. Field circuits connected to Digital Inputs can draw a maximum of 5 mA from V+/V- per input and must have a maximum rated output < 30V/V- DC. Field circuits connected to Digital Outputs must have a maximum rated voltage < V+/V- and may consume a maximum current < 100 mA per output. Field circuits connected to Analog Inputs can draw a maximum of 20 mA per input. Field circuits connected to Analog Outputs must have a maximum rated voltage < V+/V- and may consume a maximum current < 20 mA per outputs. Ta=80 C maximum.

This equipment is suitable for use in Class I, Division 2, groups (as applicable) or non-hazardous locations only.
2
Warning - Explosion hazard - Substitution of components may impair suitability for Class I, Division 2.

The field circuits are not limited energy. Field devices must therefore be certified for installation in Class I, Division 2 hazardous locations. Field circuits connected to Digital Inputs can draw a maximum of 5 mA from VPwr/VGnd per input and must have a maximum rated output < 30V/VGnd DC. Field circuits connected to Digital Outputs must have a maximum rated voltage < VPwr/VGnd and may consume a maximum current < 100 mA per output. Field circuits connected to Analog Inputs can draw a maximum of 20 mA per input. Field circuits connected to Analog Outputs must have a maximum rated voltage < VPwr/VGnd and may consume a maximum current < 20 mA per outputs. Ta=80 C maximum.
6
The antenna circuit is non-incendive. As such, the antenna may be installed on the outside of the enclosure. Alternatively, it may be installed remote from the enclosure without the need for Class I, Division 2 wiring methods.

Device Configuration
Address ModeIn Rotary Switch address mode, the left rotary dial establishes the network ID and the right rotary dial sets the device ID. The wireless networkisrestrictedtoamaximumof16devices.
Extended addressing mode allows for specific Node to Gateway bindingandallowsnetworkexpansionformorethan16devicesinawireless network. For most users, this switch is OFF.
For more information on extended address mode, please refer to the SureCross™ Wireless I/O Network product manual.
Host Configured vs Use Switch SettingsSelecting “Host Configured (override switches)” (DIP switch OFF) uses the factory’s default configuration for this device or allows a host
system to set parameters. Using the switch settings (DIP switch ON) uses the DIP switches to configure the device parameters.
Link Loss OutputsUse the listed switches to set the value of this device’s outputs linked to another device that has lost communication with the network.
