The much-talked-about Cong-ress manifesto for the Lok Sabhapolls will be out on March 26.

Congress chief SoniaGandhi is expected to releasethe manifesto at a funtion at theAICC headquarters here in thepresence of top party leaders,including Prime MinisterManmohan Singh and partyVice President Rahul Gandhi, asenior party figure said.

The manifesto is likely topromise new rights-based lawsfor health and employment

besides devoting focus toemployment generation and themanufacturing sector.

The party's manifesto com-mittee, headed by AK Antony,recently gave final touches tothe document.

The manifesto has been pre-pared after "exhaustive consul-tations" with different stake-holders, including through thedirect interaction of a number ofgroups with Rahul.

The party is also aiming atintroducing some kind of affir-mative action in the private sec-tor given that government jobsare drying up in the post-liberal-isation period.(PTI)
