COSTA RICABiodiversity & Conservation
Discover the incredible biodiversity of Costa Rica and the conservation strategies used to protect this diversity! In this course, students will attend lectures at UNO to learn about the natural history of the plants and animalsin Costa Rica, the importance of biodiversity and what threatens it, and the conservation efforts succeeding in Costa Rica. During our trip through Costa Rica, some of the exciting places we will visit include Tirimbina Biological Reserve and Research Station, EARTH University, Los Lagos Hot Springs by Arenal Volcano, Monteverde Cloud Forest Preserve, Children’s Eternal Rainforest, Selvatura Park (zip lining and canopy bridge tours), Local coffee farm (tour) and Esterillos Beach.Participating students will have an incredible experiencein Costa Rica while earning college credit!*This program is open to all majors, and has no prerequisites.
