WELCOME TO PARAMOUNT
What is my passion?
If you are unsure and just want to start small,
then a short course could be an option, and
could count towards your final qualification.
Or if you want to jump straight in, then
the best value for your time and money
would be the Bachelor of Health Science
(Naturopathy). This course is also widely
accepted by health insurance funds, which
helps you to achieve financial success. It
covers Nutrition, Massage, Homoeopathy
and Herbal Medicine, giving you a broad
range of knowledge, and the flexibility to
specialise later; Paramount courses are
designed with this in mind.
Do I have to do exams?
Paramount College of Natural Medicine
delivers qualifications in both the Higher
Education (HE) and Vocational Education and
Training (VET) sectors. In HE, examinations
are required, but usually only comprise a
weighting of 40% of the final mark for the
subject; the balance is completed by project
work. In VET, assessments are competency
based, and include a variety of assessments,
such as short answer tests and written
assignments. When a unit of study sits in
both sectors, the HE requirements will take
precedence (with the exception of Massage
1).
What about further qualifications?
Our qualifications provide opportunities for
further study, both internally and externally.
Our Certificate IV, Diploma and Advanced
Diploma courses will be recognised by
Registered Training Organisations (RTO)s
across Australia and can also provide
credit points towards the Bachelor Courses
at Paramount College and Charles Sturt
University; Advanced Diploma students may
also have dual enrolments at Paramount
College in the Bachelor stream. Edith Cowan
University and Charles Sturt also have Master
Degree programmes for which Paramount
graduates may apply.
Can I afford it?
YES! The current price of each qualification
is clearly stated on our website, and our
tuition fees are very competitive. We are
an approved VET FEE-HELP provider, and
so eligible students can defer their tuition
fees on most subjects in accordance with
the Higher Education Act 2003. Students
can also choose to pay their fees by cash,
cheque, Eftpos, and Master and Visa
cards. We also structure our timetable to
enable students to work or manage other
responsibilities which we all have.
Men and women from all walks of life decide to take the road to natural health“ ”03

courses to be completed, to provide you the opportunity to customise
your repertoire of skills or perhaps deepen your learning in your
preferred subject. Many of our courses can be undertaken as
electives, for general interest or to further develop your education
and satisfy the continued professional education requirements of your
new career in natural medicine. The following list is a sample of the
diverse range of subjects you could consider doing, either before,
during or after your formal study:
Extended Qualification
All of our courses provide a strong basis for further studies, and
additional qualifications can be added with a minimum of additional
time and cost; for example, it is possible to commence study in a
Bachelor Degree of Health Science (Naturopathy), and add additional
clinical practise hours and eleven additional Units of Study to
graduate with two qualifications, being the original Bachelor of Health
Science (Naturopathy), and an additional Bachelor Degree of Health
Science (Western Herbal Medicine). Similarly, you may start to study
a Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice, and decide to continue
your studies; your core subjects can be credited towards a Diploma
of Remedial Massage. Certain units of study may even be credited
towards your Bachelor of Health Science. This structure gives you
total flexibility in your career path, and ensures you do not waste your
valuable time and money with studies that may not lead to accredited
qualifications. Even completion of our short courses, including
electives, may be credited towards your final goal.
Bridging Courses
To assist our students to succeed in their studies, some bridging
courses may be offered by Paramount College of Natural Medicine.
While these are not compulsory, they are suggested for students who
are returning to study, or who may not have a science background.
The courses are structured in such a way as to assume no existing
knowledge before you commence. Prerequisite studies for each Unit
of Study or Elective are available from our administration office.
