Come, ev'ry soul by sin oppressed,
there's mercy with the Lord, and he will surely give you rest,
by trusting in his Word.
Refrain Only trust him, only trust him,
only trust him now; he will save you, he will save you,
he will save you now.
For Jesus shed his precious blood rich blessings to bestow;
plunge now into the crimson flood that washes bright as snow. Refrain
Yes, Jesus is the truth, the way,
that leads you into rest; believe in him without delay,
and you are fully blest. Refrain
Come then, and join this holy band, and on to glory go,
to dwell in that celestial land, where joys immortal flow. Refrain

Deanna Larson Accompanist OPENING PRAYER Emily Nothwehr Lord, everywhere we look we see the imprint of your creative love. The wondrous
works of nature show your majesty. As we gather today to celebrate your love and creation, keep us mindful that we are part of that created order, meant to be stewards and not destroyers. Prepare us to work for you in ministries of peace and justice. AMEN.
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
We can get caught up in selfish pursuits and completely over look the wonders of your creation, O God. All around us are majestic reminders of the beauty you offer to us. But we are weak and easily trapped into attitudes of indifference or destructive behavior. You have not given this world to us that we should destroy it, but rather that we should cherish it and make sure that all receive from its bounty. Forgive our overwhelming greed and selfishness. Help us to let go of the petty desires for wealth, position, and power, and bring us into a ministry which proclaims your love and jus-tice for all your people. These things we pray in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. AMEN.
WORD OF ASSURANCE God hears the cries of our hearts, sees our actions, knows our attitudes. In the midst of our sinfulness, God reaches out to heal and forgive us. Receive the forgiveness which God has offered to you. Live in God’s love. AMEN.

A CLOSING PRAYER
The time has come, O Lord, for us to leave this place;
Guide us and protect us and lead us in thy grace.
Wherever life may take us as we go our sep’rate ways,
Help us share with others the things we’ve shared today.
May the peace of God the Father, and the love of Christ,
His Son, Guide us in the days ahead and strengthen us, each one.

New Ministry to the Children in Vista Estates
We will be starting a new ministry to the children in Vista Estates. Many of these children are fairly new to our coun-try and are still learning the English language.
The children in Vista Estates will be meeting in the home of Shaniese Quist, who lives in Vista Estates. Shaniese is the Director of Youth for The Bridge. We will need adults who are willing to help with this ministry. We will be providing a light meal, a Biblical lesson, plus a craft and a game that reinforces the lesson.
Our first meeting time will be on Sunday (today), October 17, from 2:00-3:30 pm. If you are interested in helping with this ministry please contact Joan Rude at the church office.
Bibles to Third Graders
One of the greatest joys of our Sunday School ministry is pre-senting Bibles to our third grade students. We will be presenting those Bibles on Sunday, October 17 (today) during our 10:00 wor-ship service.
UMW Invite!
All women are invited to our Circle 3 meeting on October 21, at 9:30 a.m. at the church to decorate small pumpkins for our church’s shut-ins. Please bring glue, silk leaves or flowers, rib-bon for decorations.
If you are unable to attend the 9:30 a.m. group you are invited to attend that evening at 6:45 p.m. at 804 Emerald Drive.
Call Pam Milbrandt @ 732-7600 if you have any questions.
