St.Francis’ Primary School Daily Learning Plan
Class: Primary 2 Teacher: Mrs Erika Cassar
Check-in Message: Wednesday 13th January 2021
Good morning Primary 2s! How are you today? It is already midweek – look at that! I hope that you are getting used to home learning and are feeling more confident about it – I know I am! I was a little bit nervous on Monday but that only lasted a few hours. Now I feel much more confident and positive about it and so should you
Let’s close our eyes and think about how we’re truly feeling this morning. You can share your emotions on https://padlet.com/erikacassar06/u8ktjthruq3jbn4j. I am so glad some of you participated and shared with me how they are feeling as it helps me keep in touch with you and know you are safe and well. Now that you have thought about how you’re feeling, remember to say good morning to every one at home and check the weather. Shall we start off with today’s plan?
We will be starting off with a reading task for Literacy, then move on to some revision in Numeracy. On Wednesday’s we always have Science with Ms Sealy so we will also do this today! We will then end our day with some physical activity. Remember there’s also the Sumdog spelling challenge you can practise every day.
Remember to tweet us some of your work @stfrancisps and @MrsErikaStfr
Well, I hope you have another good day of home learning.
Mrs Erika xx

Introduction:
Find a space you are comfortable in and pick a book to read. Make sure it is not too easy or too difficult for you. The book may be from your collection at home or else online from https://home.oxfordowl.co.uk/reading/free-ebooks/. If you have any difficulties using the oxford owl website, there is an Oxford Reading Tree Help in the Resources section under the Primary 2 tab on the school website.
1. Look well at the cover of the book and book title. Think about what you can see on the cover and come up with what you think the story will be about. Share your thoughts with an adult or sibling at home.
2. Read the book. Take your time and feel free to repeat the story as many times as needed. Are there any difficult words? Is there anything you cannot understand? Ask an adult to help you if you need some.
3. Now that you’ve read the story, close your eyes and think about the story once again. Do you have a favourite part, or maybe a part that you really enjoyed reading? Think about this and think about what happened in this part.
4. Use your jotter or a piece of paper and draw this part of the story that struck you so much.
5. Once you do, try the following challenges/tasks:
· Write 1 sentence about it.
· Write 3 sentences about it and explain why it was your favourite part.
Feel free to share these on Twitter

L.I: I am able to follow and actively participate in a set of physical tasks
Now it is time to let out our energy from sitting down for a long time by doing some PE. Although we don’t usually do this on a Wednesday, it is important now more than ever to get physical since we are not running around so much at home.
