ANOINTING OF THE SICK If you have a serious illness, are facing hospitalization and/or surgery, you should
arrange to receive the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. You may remember “Last Rites” but the correct name is Anointing of the Sick, which is not limited to the dying and which should be celebrated before the sick person is unconscious, comatose or in the last stages of death. The Anointing is offered each weekday morning upon request, during the
7:25 AM Mass. If you or your family members are unable to attend Mass, Father will come to your home. Arrangements must be made by the prior Monday afternoon to allow
time for proper preparation. Please call the Parish Office: 676-4403
THE SACRAMENT OF PENANCE “The Sacrament of Penance”, is celebrated during our monthly Reconciliation Prayer
Service which is at 7:00 pm on the first Wednesday of each month.
It is imperative to be present for the entire service for the participation in the service is your penance.
The next service will be held at 7:00 pm on the 1st of May
This Sacrament is also offered by appointment. Please contact the Parish Office at 676-4403
SACRIFICIAL GIVING
A normal Sacrificial Giving Program is a 10% contribution to a charitable organization or church. St. Catherine's is asking for 4%.
Or, consider giving, as a minimum each week, your first hour's salary (or wage) in thanksgiving for the opportunities God has given us to work and produce for ourselves, our families and our communities. Another way to respond to God's generosity is to mention St. Catherine's in your will. Please give prayerful thought to supporting St. Catherine's in this way as well.
MARRIAGE PREPARATION PROCESS
Canon Law stipulates that weddings are to take place in the Parish where either the bride, the groom, or their parents reside. In order to begin the Marriage Preparation Process, you must pick up A Guideline and Policy Booklet for Weddings from our Parish Office and read it thoroughly. Please understand that the marriage preparation in the Diocese of San Bernardino takes a minimum of 6 months and that a wedding date may not be set until specified criteria are met.
Please Pray for the ill and hospitalized members of our Parish, their families & caregivers.
“Please remember our Elderly and Homebound as well”
Call Irene Roney at 304-2474 Prayer Chain Coordinator
Please call the parish office when you have recovered.

Evening Vespers Please join us for an evening of prayer and adoration for our Lord Christ. This
is a very special time of prayer and reflection during the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. Our next prayer
service will be on Friday April 19th at 7:00 pm.
For those who feel the stirring of faith and curiosity in their heart…. RCIA or the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is a process by which the community initiates into its midst non-baptized adults, baptized adults from
another faith seeking communion with the Catholic Church, and those preparing for full initiation through the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist. RCIA is primarily a journey of faith that begins with wondering, asking and seeking; continues through hearing God’s word, studying, discussing, and praying; and leads to a commitment through the sacraments of initiation to a life of faith and love in communion with Catholics throughout the world.

Retreat Theme: Three Virtues Necessary for Prayer 2013 is the second year of preparing for the celebration of the 5th centenary of St. Teresa of Avila's birth. Last year, the retreats focused on her life, her map of spiritual development, and a format of prayer that she inspires. This year, we will delve into what she describes as the virtues required to live a life of prayer, namely: humility, detachment from worldly things, and love of neighbor. By describing these virtues, St. Teresa reminds us that our prayer life, on which our entire spiritual life is based, is not merely a conversation with God, but a whole relationship, and one that will affect our entire lives and those around us.

SAINTS AND SPECIAL OBSERVANCES
Sunday: Second Sunday of Easter (or of Divine Mercy) Monday: The Annunciation of the Lord Thursday: St. Stanislaus Saturday: St. Martin I
FEAST OF FAITH
TREASURES FROM OUR TRADITION
An ancient title for this Sunday is Dominica in Albis, or “Sunday in White.” During the Easter Vigil, the newly baptized are invested with a white garment, a sign that they have put on Christ. At one time, the garments were worn for a full week of celebration and reflection, and on this Sunday the newly baptized would appear in their robes again in their new place among the faithful for Eucharist. In later centuries, the energy of new life at Easter was largely forgotten, and this Sunday was renamed “Quasimodo Sunday,” or “Low Sunday.” In recent years, with the recovery of the insight that Easter is the privileged time for celebrating and renewing baptism, there is nothing “Low” about this Sunday. At a week’s distance, the beauty and grace of our Easter celebration is sustained by joyful alleluias, the blessing and sprinkling of holy water, and the comfort of the Lord’s presence to us. He is risen, and he summons us together, opening up the scriptures for us, breaking the bread, filling us with new life.
