SPYBOT OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Double click on the icon that was downloaded to start installing the program

Select Run

Select language

Then select the Next button

Accept the agreement and select Next

Select Next

Select the Compact installation (no additional languages) shows only the

Download updates immediately selected. Press Next

Select Next

Deselect Create a Quick Launch icon and Use system settings protection and

press Next

Select Install

When the installation is complete press the Finish button

The Spybot program will now load

The legal stuff box will appear, just select to not show again and press OK

The very first time you use Spybot, you just need to keep selecting next…

until you see the Start using the program button in step 7 of 7

IMPORTANT***** BEFORE RUNNING THE PROGRAM

Right click on the Spybot icon and select Properties

Click on the Advanced button

Be sure the Run as administrator is checked and they click OK

Be sure to click the Apply button before exiting

TO RUN THE PROGRAM

The first thing you want to do is Search for updates

Select any of the United States locations and press continue

Right click on any entry there will be a drop down menu. Select All then

press the Download button

When the download is complete, it will remind you to immunize press OK

Then Exit the download portion of the program

The legal stuff window will appear again. Check the box to not show again,

and press OK

The main Spybot screen will appear. After updating the program, you should

immunize

Select immunize again to complete the process.

When the operation is completed the Unprotected will show 0. Now select

the Search & Destroy botton.

Select Check for Problems

The program will scan for spyware

When the program completes it will tell you how many problems it found and

it will list them.

Select the Fix selected problems. Then select OK

The program will tell you how many problems it fixed.
