SportPort Systems - Why?

• SportPort Systems - developed to address three problems common to storing equipment:1. Odour/Health• Commonly known as “Locker Room Odour”• Fungi & Bacteria growth can pose a health risk

2. Clutter• The contents of a hockey bag take up scarce garage or

basement floor space3. Ambivalence• Family athletes, commonly drop their gear wherever it

lands when they arrive home

1 - Odour & Health

• The Cause:– Published research papers reveal perspiration soaked

athletic apparel promotes growth of fungi and bacteria which:• Yield unpleasant odours• Pose health risks• Lead to premature equipment

deterioration

• The Simple Solution:– Spread equipment out to promote air circulation to:

• Completely dry equipment immediately after use• Inhibit the growth of biologicals

2 - Clutter

• The Problem:– Few families have specialized equipment storage systems

• Existing systems are primarily floor based occupying scarce basement or garage floor space

• Equipment stored in multiple locations can be forgotten on game day

• The Solution:– SportPort Systems

• Wall mounted on finished wood stud walls• Custom hanger brackets accept equipment to open & distribute it

promoting rapid drying– Keeps everything in one place for easy access; hockey version

accommodates: skates, pads, helmet, pants, gloves & sticks

3 - Ambivalence

• The Problem:– Competitive Systems are utilitarian in design• Equipment hangs in haphazard manner• Awkward to fill and retrieve from• Unappealing to look at full or empty

• The Solution:– SportPort• Sport Specific Wall Mounted Systems

– Appealing award or crest shape– Specially designed hangers for every piece of gear
