Once again the United Labor Agency of Bergen County, AFL-CIO Community Servicesand the Bergen County Central Trades and Labor Council, AFL-CIO have joined together tohost the Philip J. McLewin Community Services Awards Breakfast. The event will takeplace on Saturday, May 2, 2009, at the Sheridan Mahwah.

Please join us as we honor these distinguished individuals with our Labor leader of theYear Award and our Community Services Award.

• Eric Boyce, Business Manager of Plumbers Local 14 will be this year's recipient ofour Labor Leader of the Year Award in recognition of his outstanding contributionand sustained commitment to the labor movement and to the working people of NewJersey.

• James Halloran, past president of IBEW Local 604 will be this year's recipient ofour Community Services Award in recognition for his volunteer service for the locallabor movement and his support for working families.

• Our keynote speaker this year is:

• The Honorable David J. Socolow, CommissionerNew Jersey Department of Labor

In addition, the program will include the presentation of the Bergen Central LaborCouncil Scholarships and the Union Community Activist Network (UCAN) graduationcertificates by the United Labor Agency.

Your continued support, for over four decades, has made it possible for the BergenCounty Central Trades and Labor Council to work to improve the lives of workers and theirfamilies by bringing economic justice to the workplace and social justice to Bergen County.Since 1981, the United Labor Agency of Bergen County has worked to improve these lives bymeeting their human and social service needs and empowering workers to make theircommunities better places to live and work.
