What is Splenda?

chlorine is substituted for three hydrogen/oxygen molecules

o Not recognized by the body as a carbohydrate

o 600 times sweeter than sugar

How Safe is Splenda?

o Over 20 years of evaluationo FDA approvals in 1998, 1999o Approved for use in over 80

countrieso Multiple studies found sucralose

poorly absorbed (15%)o Only 2-3% metabolizes

So What’s the Problem?
